AI assistants fail in a particular way: not loudly, but slowly. The answer is almost right, so you rephrase; still almost right, so you try again. Twenty minutes later you're frustrated and no closer. The worst response a platform can give at that moment is more AI. So we built the obvious thing — a real handoff to a real person, wired into the assistant itself.
A Helpdesk in Your Profile
Every account now has a Helpdesk tile: open a ticket with a subject and category, reply in a threaded conversation, and resolve it when you're done. Statuses are honest about whose move it is — awaiting support or awaiting your reply — and when support answers, you get a push notification with a link straight into the thread.
Aria Knows When to Offer
The interesting part is upstream. Aria now watches for two signals: a conversation that has run long without resolution, and language that suggests frustration. When either fires, the reply carries a quiet offer — "want a person to take a look?" — with a one-click path to a pre-filled ticket. The conversation context rides along, so the support team sees what you tried before you say a word. No pop-ups, no chatbot loops, no "please contact support" dead ends — the detection is deterministic, zero-latency, and never interrupts an answer that's working.
A Real Queue Behind It
On the other side, support staff work a dedicated admin console: a status-filtered queue of every ticket across the platform, threaded replies that flip the ticket back to the customer, and one-click resolution. Staff replies are marked as such, customers are notified immediately, and — because this is ApiSpi — every action lands in the activity log with actor attribution, the same audit trail the rest of the platform keeps.
Why This Matters for Governed AI
We talk a lot about governance as enforcement — guardrails, approvals, kill switches. But governed AI also means knowing the assistant's limits and designing for them. An AI that can escalate gracefully is more trustworthy than one that pretends it never needs to. The handoff is live now for every account, at no extra cost.
